What to Expect When Visiting Your Lawyer’s Office

This slideshow will give you a step-by-step guide of what to expect during your real estate transaction.

Step 1 - Documentation Submission

  •  I will personally handle sending all the correct paperwork to your lawyer, including the purchase contract, waiver documents, and any amendments. I'll aim to send the purchase contract as early as possible to help streamline the process and ensure everything moves smoothly for you.

  • From Your Lender: Your lender or mortgage broker will forward the mortgage instructions directly to us.

Step 2 - File Preparation

  • Once all required documents are received, we will open and prepare your file.

  • After the file is complete, our office will schedule an in-person signing appointment with one of our conveyancing lawyers.

Step 3 - Signing Appointment

  • During the signing appointment, you’ll be walked through each document, with a clear explanation of the content, risks, and obligations.

  • Your Real Property Report (RPR) will be reviewed, and any concerns will be addressed before closing.

5: What to Bring to Your Appointment

  • Void cheque or Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) form

  • Two pieces of ID (one must be photo ID)

  • Real Property Report (RPR) – if required

  • Bank draft/insurance binder if purchasing a home

After the Signing

  • Generally, closings are smooth. You will only hear from us for final reporting or if any issues arise.

  • Our experienced team maintains excellent relationships with other conveyancing lawyers, helping secure the best outcomes for our clients.
